About Me

About Me

Caro Syson is a woman with a history…

A history of Self-Employed business and she’s not worked for anyone else in the last 30 years!

Since then, she’s had numerous self-employed businesses, all in pursuit of doing what she loves, and each time making her businesses profitable to enable her to live the life she always wanted.

In 2016 her life changed direction when she wanted to help her own kids live the life of their dreams and also become self-employed.

So began her journey to create Pocket PA to help self-employed business owners globally, to manage & understand their work and finances differently.

Hi, I’m Caro

I began in the health sector and my first business Bishops Stortford Physiotherapy Practice, was a Private Accredited Physio business working from home.

I then retrained as a Mortgage Broker, and became a Property Trainer, Investor and Landlord which I’ve continued on over the last 20 years. This gave me a great inside track on how to understand the importance of money, cashflow and growing a business.

Along the way I’ve also had quite a few other ‘side hustles’ that I’ve often loved just as much!  So, I really do understand how a small business needs to operate!

And now I have a Software business, Pocket PA which is the one I definitely love the most!

It originally began when my own daughter Megan started working for herself at the age of 19.

I wanted a tool for her, to ensure she understood her finances and would minimise her admin hours, so she’d make more money and be less stressed!

But most importantly I wanted something without all the spreadsheets and jargon as Meg has dyscalculia and doesn’t easily get along with numbers!

When I couldn’t find anything suitable and simple that joined up all the dots in her business, I was so committed to ensuring she would be successful in her business, I just decided to make it for her!

Without any previous coding or software experience, I’ve made Pocket PA with love and care, over the last 5 years, to the point where I now have an amazing and incredibly powerful system, ready to share and help thousands of other self-employed business owners just like you.

Thankfully I’ve learned many wonderful things along the way and managed to pass these short cuts and systems on to my own 4 children, 2 of whom are now very successfully self-employed.

If you want to run your business without spreadsheets and make the money you dream of, then you need a simple and powerful tool like Pocket PA and a structure around it to catapult your money goals.

I help you to be consistent – not constant

I also now work and share this help with a select group of other small business owners to stop them feeling overwhelmed and support them in growing the business they dream of.

MY VALUES

Empowerment

I believe in myself and I believe that everyone has the right and ability to be successful in their own way.

You would never judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree.

We are all destined for greatness in our own way and there is a place for everyone to shine their own light brightly and make money doing it.

Simplicity

I believe that open and honest language allows for a clear understanding of things for everyone.

I hate jargon and being made to feel small and on the outside. So keeping things simple always rules.

That way everyone feels included and no one feels left out or unimportant.

Authenticity

We are all more than good enough just being ourselves.

I don’t try to be someone I’m not and that way it’s easy to stay in my own lane and be happy with who I am.

I dont need everyone to like me and that’s totally fine.

Being myself is always more important.

THE JUICIER / Other Interesting Bits & Bobs

I live near St Albans, just outside London, and have 4 amazing kidults who are my absolute, hands down biggest achievement and all make me burst with pride.

I love being outdoors, running, swimming, hiking or just being in nature. Even in the rain.

Travel is one of my biggest passions, heading off the beaten track to far flung remote places, especially if its combined with mountain climbing and cold water swimming! Beach holidays and sun loungers are not my thing.

I’ve made more than 100 birthday cakes for my kids and love to decorate and eat cake in equal measures.

I’m naturally an introvert and empath, and in training to be more outgoing and sociable! That’s definitely work in progress but I’m happy with progress over perfection for now!

I believe that Self-employment should be promoted more as a great option for everyone leaving school and that it should be taught on the curriculum. I go into schools to say the same. Which teachers often dont like.
